Hopewell and Nine Subsidiaries Awarded in the Caring Company Logo

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) and nine of its subsidiaries have been awarded the Caring Company Logo 2011/2012 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of their contributions to the community, the employees and the environment. It is the largest number of Caring Company awards garnered by Hopewell at any one time.

Among these, Hopewell Holdings Limited, Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited and Hopewell Property Management Co., Limited have received the honors for the fifth consecutive year, while Panda Hotel has been awarded the honour for the eighth consecutive year and received the accolade of ‘5 Years Plus Caring Company Logo’.

In addition, Hopewell Real Estate Agency Limited, Hopewell Centre Management Limited, GARDENEast Property Management Limited, KITEC Management Limited (“KML”), Panda Place Management Limited and IT Catering and Services Limited have also received the logo of Caring Company, demonstrating Hopewell’s commitment to sustainable development.

The Caring Company Scheme, launched by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service in 2002, aims at cultivating good corporate citizenship and building a more cohesive society.

Strong commitment to sustainable development

Hopewell and its subsidiary companies are pleased to receive the awards, which also gives encouragement to the staff members. Hopewell has a strong commitment to sustainable development and being a good corporate citizen. In collaboration with community partners, Hopewell supports and organises a series of community programmes focusing on promotion of a harmonious society, environmental protection and youth development.

Hopewell Received 'Manpower Developers 1st Award' Anew

Hopewell Holdings Limited ("Hopewell") has been again honoured with the 'Manpower Developer 1st' title by Employees Retraining Board (ERB) at the ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme, in recognition of the company's outstanding achievements and commitment to manpower training and development. The award ceremony was held on 24th April 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Mr. Richard Law, Company Secretary of Hopewell Holdings Limited, received the award on behalf of the company.

The ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme is the first accreditation system in Hong Kong to assess the level of maturity of manpower training and development strategies and practices of organisations. The Scheme aims at promoting a corporate culture which focuses on manpower training and development, and raising the awareness of employers and employees to the importance of on-the-job training and continuous learning. It also serves as a recognition and support to employers who are committed to providing training and development for their employees.

Caring for employees

Hopewell regards the employees as their most important asset, and offers a broad range of training programmes and workshops to help employees expand professional knowledge and develop new skills. In addition, Hopewell has launched an Employee Assistance Programme that offers counselling, seminars and work life balance activities. Hopewell believes work-life balance is instrumental to maintaining a productive, healthy and cohesive workforce. Through organising various staff activities, interest classes and voluntary works, Hopewell encourages its staff members to cultivate a sustainable life style.

Hopewell Wins Two Laurels at the Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2012

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) is honored to have received the “Best Investor Relations” and “Best Corporate Social Responsibility” awards at the “2nd Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2012”. For two years in succession, Hopewell has consecutively received the two laurels, a tangible testimony to the Group’s excellent performance in investor relations and corporate social responsibility. Mr. Thomas Wu, the Managing Director of Hopewell Holdings Limited, has also been selected as “Asia’s Best CEO (Investor Relations)” in Hong Kong.

Organised by Corporate Governance Asia, one of the Asia region’s most authoritative journals on corporate management, the “2nd Asian Excellence Recognition Awards” are designed to recognise excellence in investor communications, business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental practices and financial performance. The assessment and recognition are based on the scores submitted by readers and interviews conducted with investors.

Hopewell will continue to maintain an open and proactive communication with stakeholders, establish a close working relationship with them and at the same time achieve sustainable corporate development.
 

Hopewell Supports “Skip Lunch Day”

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) continued its support to “Skip Lunch Day” organized by the Community Chest with the aim to help improve the living standard of the street sleepers and cage residents by encouraging participants to skip their regular lunch and donate the lunch fees to the Chest.

Totally 229 Hopewell staff members had committed donations towards the event. Participants will receive a Skip Lunch Day coupon as a token of appreciation.

Hopewell Participated Community Chest Corporate Challenge

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) encourages employees to support sport activities and charity events by participating the Community Chest Corporate Challenge. Leaded by Mr. Alan Tam, Executive Director of Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited, two teams of HH Social Club completed the 10-km run of the 2012 Community Chest Corporate Challenge held on 15 January. All donations raised through the event will be allocated to enhance "Children & Youth Services" supported by the Chest.
