| KITEC and Panda Hotel Awarded in Power Smart Contest for Energy Saving Performance | | | 09 Dec 2012
KITEC Management Ltd (“KML”) and Panda Hotel, two subsidiaries of Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”), have both been awarded Certificates of Appreciation in the Power Smart Contest 2012 organised by Friends of the Earth (HK), in recognition of their energy saving performance.
With careful planning and the concerted efforts of the management and staff members, both companies have achieved significant results in energy saving. In comparison with the total energy usage in the same time period last year, Panda Hotel saved 4.7% while KML saved over 4%.
Panda Hotel is the largest hotel in Tsuen Wan District, with approximately 1000 immaculately appointed guest rooms and suites. KML is the property and facility management company responsible for delivering the quality property and facility management services to the Kowloonbay International Trade and Exhibition Centre. |
| Hopewell and Green Ladies Joint Hands in Promoting Green Diet among Our Staff | | | 22 Nov 2012
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) is jointly organized “Green Ladies x Green Lunch" with our community partner, Green Ladies at Hopewell Centre on 22 November 2012. The green luncheon offers a taste of organic dishes and promotes a sustainable attitude towards a low-carbon life. The event raises staff awareness of environmental protection and educates them on green living. 38 participants join the green luncheon, practice green living and donate 40 pieces clothes, accessories to Green Ladies. The donations received in this event will provide additional funding for Green Ladies.
Green Ladies is the first eco social enterprise, operated by St. James’ Settlement, aims to achieve environmental and social change through fashion reuse and for capability enhancement. Green Ladies Shop is a good platform for shoppers, helps shoppers to achieve the concept of restyling and provides training opportunity to middle-aged ladies for people enhancement. |

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) dedicates resources on Corporate Social Responsibility issues and puts priority on encouraging sustainable development in the community according to a well-established set of core sustainability values including Environment and Sustainable Hong Kong. Hopewell joined WWF-Hong Kong Corporate Membership Programme as a Gold Member this year.
Last year, Hopewell supported different activities of WWF-Hong Kong including “Earth Hour”, “Low-carbon Office Operation Programme (LOOP), etc and will support the environmental conservation activities continuously. |

| Hopewell Becomes the First Corporation in Hong Kong to Purchase New Renault Electric Vehicle with Zero Carbon Dioxide Emission | | | 06 Sep 2012
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) has purchased a new Renault FLUENCE Z.E.100% electric vehicle (“EV”) to further strengthen its EV fleet. As part of its continuous efforts in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) initiatives on environment protection and corporate sustainability, Hopewell strongly supports the use of EVs to promote cleaner air by reducing roadside emissions. A car delivery ceremony was held at Hopewell Centre in Wan Chai earlier for the delivery of the very first one among the first batch of newly-arrived FLUENCE Z.E. EVs in Hong Kong, which has zero carbon dioxide emission.
As a pioneer in the use of electric vehicles, Hopewell introduced the first hybrid vehicle to the company car fleet in 2006, followed by the purchase of two EVs, i-MiEV & LEAF in 2010 and 2011 respectively. With the new FLUENCE Z.E., HHL has a total of three 100% electric vehicles in its EV fleet, two of them equipped with cross-border licenses, in hopes of bringing the green living concepts to Mainland China.
Mr. William Wong, Executive Director of Hopewell, said, “We have consistently been promoting a low carbon and energy saving lifestyle by taking the lead in introducing zero carbon dioxide emission’s EVs.
