Six Subsidiaries of Hopewell Received Wastewi$e Label in the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence

Hopewell Centre, GARDENEast, Panda Hotel, Panda Place, Villa Lotto and Broadwood Twelve have been awarded “Wastewi$e Label” of the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence. Among these, GARDENEast, Panda Place and Villa Lotto have granted with “Class of Excellence” Wastewi$e Label. Hopewell Centre, Panda Hotel and Broadwood Twelve have also received “Class of Good” Wastewi$e Label in recognition of their commitment to environmental protection by adopting measures to reduce the amount of waste.
 
The Wastewi$e Label is jointly organized by the Environmental Campaign Committee, Environmental Protection Department and nine organizations. It aims to encourage Hong Kong businesses / organizations in adopting green management and green innovations, as well as to reduce the amount of waste generated within their establishments or generated through the services and products they provide, and to recognize the waste reduction efforts of those companies.

Hopewell Continues to Support WWF Earth Hour

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) continues to support WWF Earth Hour in Hong Kong by switching off exterior decorative lights of six major properties of the Group, including Hopewell Centre, QRE Plaza, GARDENEast, E-Max, Panda Hotel and Panda Place for an hour, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on 28th March 2015. In addition, Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Company Limited’s joint venture companies, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai Superhighway Company Limited and Guangdong Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Superhighway Company Limited also switched off the lights at the staff dormitory buildings in Guangdong province during the Earth Hour.
 
Being the world's largest collective environmental action, the theme of “Earth Hour 2015” is “One Hour For One Bright Future”. Many thousands of people across the city showed their support, not only by switching off their lights for one hour at the appointed time, but by pledging to change their lifestyles and give up some luxuries to sustain the Earth.

Hopewell and Ten Subsidiaries Awarded in the Caring Company Logo

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) and ten of its subsidiaries have been awarded the Caring Company Logo 2015/2016 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of their commitment to sustainable development and efforts to the community, the employees and the environment. Among these, Hopewell Holdings Limited, Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited, Hopewell Real Estate Agency Limited, Hopewell Property Management Co., Limited, Hopewell Centre Management Limited, KITEC Management Limited and Panda Place Management Limited have received the honours for more than five consecutive years, which is the largest number of ‘5 Years Plus Caring Company Logo’ garnered by Hopewell at any one time. Panda Hotel has been awarded the honour for more than ten consecutive years and received the accolade of ‘10 Years Plus Caring Company Logo’.

Hopewell Wins Award in ‘Take a “Brake” Low Carbon Action – Corporate Green Driving Award Scheme’ Again

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) has won gold award for “Fuel Consumption Saver” again in the ‘Take a “Brake” Low Carbon Action – Corporate Green Driving Award Scheme ’ organised by Friends of the Earth (HK) this year in recognition of Hopewell’s efforts in achieving sustainability and creating a low carbon environment.
 
The Take a “Brake” Low Carbon Action - Corporate Green Driving Award Scheme was launched in 2010. It aims to encourage corporate drivers and employees who own cars to reduce fuel usage through effective vehicle maintenance and green driving habits, and invite other employees to take a “brake” on certain habits that can help reduce carbon footprint in combating climate change. Through the programme, the accumulated average reduction in fuel consumption has reached 84,000 litres per month, which is equivalent to nearly 235 tonnes of carbon dioxide emission – an amount that requires 23,500 trees to absorb in one year.

Hopewell Supported The Community Chest Green Day for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) supported The Community Chest Green Day for the fourth consecutive year organized by The Community Chest of Hong Kong and received an overwhelming response from colleagues. The programme aims to spread the message of “Act green and live green” and encourage public to take a greener form of transport, reduce food waste, save energy and water, support food waste recycling, resources recycling and redistributing programmes, waste reduction, separation and recovery, etc. All donations received is allocated to support "Medical and Health Services" provided by the Chest's member agencies.
