| Hopewell Supported Wan Chai District Bookcrossing Exercise 2016 | | | 29 Oct 2016
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) supported “Wan Chai District Bookcrossing Exercise 2016” by placing a collection box at Hopewell Centre for recycling books and received a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of our support.
The campaign launched from October 2016 to February 2017 which is co-organized by Wan Chai District Council Cultural and Leisure Services Committee and Hong Kong Sharing. It aims to promote recycling, reading and sharing. Books collected through the shopping malls, commercial and residential buildings are donated for redistribution while enhancing the culture of reading. |
| HH Social Club Volunteers Learnt Ukulele Together with the Elderly | | | 15 Jul 2016
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) organized various interest classes to help our employees put their special skill sets to good use for worthy causes. The Group partnered with the Wan Chai Methodist Centre for the Seniors to arrange Ukulele workshop. HH Social Club volunteers taught elderly people to learn Ukulele and also brought laughter and encouraged the elderly to try new things. |
| Hopewell Sponsored Hong Kong Outstanding Students’ Association for the Sixth Consecutive Year | | | 02 Jul 2016
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) supported summer programme organized by Hong Kong Outstanding Students’ Association for the sixth consecutive year. This year, the programme named “Explorez 2016”. It included a four-day experiencing camp for students to have a fundamental understanding towards four focus groups, namely disabled, impoverished, ethnic minorities and new immigrants, by experiencing their real living situation. Finally, the students submitted a “micro-film” and presented their learning in the closing ceremony.
Hong Kong Outstanding Students’ Association was founded in 1987 by the awardees and finalists of the prestigious Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award, which is currently held by the Youth Arch Foundation. With over 1,000 members, the Association is one of the largest and oldest student-run, non-profit organizations in Hong Kong. |
| Hopewell, Junior Achievement Hong Kong and Panda Hotel Jointly Organized “Work Experience@Panda Hotel” | | | 27 Jun 2016
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”), Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA) and Panda Hotel co-organized “JA Career Dimensions – Career Check-in@Panda Hotel” to allow students to learn more about the career prospects and opportunities in hospitality and tourism industry.
The first activity of this programme was held in the end of May. 36 participants were divided into 3 groups and joined 1-day “Work Experience@Panda Hotel” on 27-29 June 2016. During the event, the participants were arranged to work under the guidance from mentors of different business units, it enabled them to experience the difficulties faced by staff in hospitality industry, and learn job-specific skills and communication skills.
The participants also received certificates in recognition of their participation. |
| Hopewell Organized “Hopewell Junior Volunteers Programme - Upcycling Workshop” | | | 25 Jun 2016
Hopewell Holdings Limited (“Hopewell”) supported the Grant-in-aid Brightens Children’s Lives Service of St. James’ Settlement and co-organized “Hopewell Junior Volunteers Programme” for primary school students. Over 30 students from Buddhist Chi King Primary School and children of Hopewell’s staff joined upcycling workshop held on 25th June 2016. During the event, the participants made the upcycled coasters with waste tea leaves. Also, we arranged graduation ceremony and graduation celebration luncheon to share the happiness together. |
